Sharon Newman
GIS Analyst

Ms. Newman joined GSRC in 1996 and has over 13 years of experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). She has experience with ESRI's ArcGIS software for environmental management projects. She has used ArcMap, ArcCatalog, and ArcEditor for data creation, retrieval, conversion, cartographic display and analysis. Her experience includes data collection, geodatabase development, spatial analysis, and cartographic production. She has participated in projects for Environmental Assessments (EAs), Environmental Impact Statements (EISs), wetland delineations, feasibility studies, and Biological Assessments (BAs). She has project experience in Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas, Arizona, and California.
 
Ms. Newman has knowledge of Intergraph's GIS products (MGE Analyst, MGE Basic Administrator, MGE Basic Nucleus, MGE Base Mapper, and MGE Coordinate System Operations). Her experience includes map projection and coordinate systems conversion; spatial analysis or geographic data; and database management for capturing, storing, retrieving, analyzing, and displaying spatial data for environmental surveys.
 
Ms. Newman has worked with many raster manipulation and image mapping products such as Adobe Photoshop 7.0, Adobe Illustartor 10.0, Intergraph Base Imager, IRAS B, and IRAS C. She has also worked with various CADD programs such as Bentley's Microstation, Corel Draw, and Pixel Pro in both raster and vector environments.
