Rob Nixon

Rob Nixon joined GSRC in 2009. Rob has been conducting field studies on a variety of plant and animal species for over 25 years. He has extensive experience working on projects in the southwestern United States. His field experience includes population monitoring and survey work with Federally listed and state protected species including Pima pineapple cactus, Cochise pincushion cactus, Nichol Turk’s head cactus, Arizona hedgehog cactus, cactus ferruginous pygmy owl, western burrowing owl, yellow-billed cuckoo, Mojave desert tortoise, Sonoran desert tortoise, and Chiricahua leopard frog.  Rob has worked alongside cultural anthropologists participating in Phase I archaeological surveys in southern Arizona,and has received on-the-job training in the identification of historic and prehistoric cultural artifacts. Rob Nixon has experience composing Biological Evaluations and Assessments, conducting native plant inventories, jurisdictional delineations, and exercises involving the description, mapping, and monitoring of vegetation communities.
