With over 30 years of experience on a variety of natural resources and CEQA/NEPA projects, Mr. Gonzales has a sound knowledge of pertinent Federal and state environmental regulations. He has managed and completed CEQA/NEPA documents; biological technical reports; Mitigation Monitoring and Reporting Programs; consistency evaluations under the Natural Communities Conservation Program; grant applications; habitat revegetation/restoration plans; and urban canyon work plans involving non-native vegetation treatments, habitat restoration/maintenance/monitoring, erosion-control improvements, and construction/repair of trails, fencing and bridges. He has conducted and implemented technical peer reviews; environmental compliance management for transmission and renewable generation projects; protected species surveys and nesting bird surveys; wetland delineations and determinations (including CA Rapid Assessment Methodology); invasive species removals (bio-mechanical non-herbicidal techniques), herbicide applications, and cost-effective habitat restoration methods using bio-controls with special emphasis on restoration of vernal pool ecosystems. Mr. Gonzales manages our Carlsbad, CA office where his main responsibilities include client/contract liaison; supervising field staff; upkeep/acquisition of tools, equipment, herbicides, vehicles; groundtruthing fieldwork to ensure compliance with contract scope and performing other field studies; biological/environmental reports and progress reports for habitat management/restoration work; and habitat management planning efforts.
Mr. Gonzales received a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from University of California, San Diego.
